Game of Thrones Star Cast in Mark Wahlberg’s Upcoming Thriller
Netflix is building out the cast for its upcoming crime thriller centered on international football corruption, adding another recognizable face to the project. The film already stars Mark Wahlberg. Now, a well-known actress from Game of Thrones is stepping into the growing ensemble as production continues to take shape behind the scenes.
Natalie Dormer and more join the cast of The Big Fix
Netflix is loading up its upcoming thriller The Big Fix with major star power. According to Deadline, Natalie Dormer has officially signed on to the project alongside Susan Lynch and Gabriel Leone. Mark Wahlberg and Venom fame Riz Ahmed are also part of the ensemble. Filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur is helming, while Guy Bolton and Justin Haythe are putting together the screenplay. Production duties are being handled by Peter Chernin and David Ready through Chernin Entertainment, with Kormákur and Samantha Nisenboim also producing the film.
The thriller pulls inspiration from real-life events and adapts Brett Forrest’s book into a globe-trotting crime story. The plot follows a former Interpol investigator who now works at FIFA in a desk-job role, only to stumble onto a massive match-fixing network operating behind the scenes of international football. Once he starts digging deeper, the situation spirals fast, dragging him into a high-stakes chase tied to organized crime, rigged games, and corruption stretching across several countries.
According to the project details, the central conflict focuses on a fixer linked to Chinese Triads who profits from rigging matches worldwide. The film is described as a globe-trotting thriller built around a tense pursuit between two determined men operating on opposite sides of the scandal. Bennett Walsh, Chris Eaton, and Jenno Topping are also attached as executive producers.
Dormer remains best known globally for playing Margaery Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, a role that turned her into one of the series’ breakout stars. She also appeared in The Hunger Games films as Cressida and has continued balancing television and film projects in recent years. Her recent credits include Audrey’s Children and The Wasp. She is also set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming Extraction series.
