Oscars 2027 Host Revealed For 99th Academy Awards

The Oscars 2027 host has been revealed, with the Academy announcing who will be hosting the show’s 99th ceremony in 2027.

Who is hosting the Oscars in 2027?

The Academy took to Instagram to reveal the news that Conan O’Brien would be returning to host the show for a third straight year. O’Brien first began hosting the show for its 97th ceremony, which took place in 2025, and was met with rave reviews for his skits and monologue.

O’Brien then returned to the show, hosting it a second year in a row for the 98th ceremony that took place earlier this year. Now, he’ll be back for what The Academy is jokingly calling the “threequel,” and will host the 99th edition of the show, which is currently set to take place on March 14, 2027. his producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney will also return as producers for the third time.

It’s unclear what the Academy has in store for the 100th show in 2028, but we’ll likely have to wait a bit to learn about that.

“We are thrilled to be working again with Conan, Raj, Katy, Jeff and Mike for the 99th Oscars,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Lynette Howell Taylor said in a joint statement (via Variety). “They are an incredible team and have produced such captivating, entertaining and heartfelt shows over the last two years. We are so grateful for their ongoing partnership as we honor our global film community — and we look forward to Conan superbly leading the celebration with his brilliance and humor.”

The 97th Oscars were a massive success overall, drawing 19.69 million viewers and over 100 million interactions across social media. The 98th Oscars dipped a bit to 17.9 million, but retained strong online engagement. Following the end of the 98th ceremony, a bit played where O’Brien was named “host for life” of the show, a designation that seems to be sticking true as of now.
