The 2026 Netflix hit The Rip, featuring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, will receive a limited theatrical release this weekend on May 15, 2026, at the Vista Theatre, as shared on their official X account.
The Rip’s plot unfolds within Miami’s narcotics division, focusing on a police unit grappling with bureaucratic red tape six weeks after their commanding officer’s murder. Receiving a tip about a cartel cache, they raid an abandoned property and uncover millions in hidden cash. This discovery ignited deep suspicion and affected their professional alliances. As the situation escalates further, each member is forced to question who can be trusted.
Damon plays Lieutenant Dane Dumars, and Affleck plays Detective Sergeant J.D. Byrne. Other cast members include Steven Yeun as Detective Mike Ro, Teyana Taylor as Detective Numa Baptiste, and Sasha Calle as Desiree “Desi” Lopez Molina, among others.
