New Update on Cillian Murphy’s Alien Horror Sequel Is Great News
The silence is finally broken with a new update on A Quiet Place Part 3, as Cillian Murphy‘s return to the franchise is now confirmed. Director John Krasinski announced the update on Instagram, sharing a photo from the set.
A Quiet Place 3 starts production
Filming has begun on Part 3 of the A Quiet Place franchise in New York City. John Krasinski, who returns as writer, director, and producer of the upcoming sequel, announced the start of production on Sunday on Instagram. He shared a photo of the film slate in front of the Manhattan Bridge Arch and Colonnade in Chinatown in New York City. The film will come out on July 30, 2027.
The Oscar-winning actor is set to reprise his role as Emmett, the hardened survivor he played in A Quiet Place Part 2. Murphy’s character became a crucial ally to the Abbott family, and his return adds significant dramatic weight to the threequel. He joins original stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, who are all back as Evelyn, Regan, and Marcus Abbott. New cast members include Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian. They possibly could be part of new dynamics in the silent, sound-hunted world.
The choice of New York City as a filming location is notable. In 2024, Michael Sarnoski served as a director for A Quiet Place: Day One, which was set in NYC. The movie features Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. Krasinski’s sequel now appears to explore the city’s ruins further, potentially tying into events from the prequel.
Krasinski originally directed and featured as Lee Abbott, Evelyn’s husband, who sacrifices himself in the first film. Despite his character’s death, Lee has appeared via flashbacks, and fans speculate whether that pattern could continue.
With a six-year gap between main sequels and Murphy’s growing popularity following his recent awards success, anticipation is sky-high.
