Lewis Pullman & Sally Field’s New Netflix Movie Streams Today

One of Netflix‘s newest drama movies of this year has finally arrived, featuring Emmy nominee Lewis Pullman (Thunderbolts*) and Academy Award winner Sally Field (Norma Rae). Beginning today, the film adaptation of Shelby Van Pelt’s bestselling 2022 novel, Remarkably Bright Creatures, is now officially available to stream on Netflix.

What do we know about Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures movie?

In Remarkably Bright Creatures, Field plays an aquarium caretaker who finds an unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus, voiced by Spider-Man 2 star Alfred Molina. Meanwhile, Pullman portrays the Aquarium’s newest employee, who hopes to find his father. The ensemble cast also includes Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Joan Chen (Saving Face), Kathy Baker (Edward Scissorhands), Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), and Sofia Black D’Elia (Single Drunk Female).

“A widow who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus and a wayward young man who comes to town in search of family. Together, they will uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery and restore their sense of wonder,” reads the official synopsis.

Remarkably Bright Creatures was directed by Olivia Newman (Where the Crawdads Sing), who co-wrote the screenplay with John Whittington. It was executive-produced by Van Pelt, Newman, Erika Hampson, Alisa Tager, Tony Lipp, and Alyssa Rodrigues. Producers were Bryan Unkeless, Peter Craig, and David Levine. The creative team also consisted of editor Tamara Meem, director of photography Ashley Connor, composer Dickon Hinchliffe, production designer Jennifer Morden, and costume designer Carla Hetland.
