Avengers: Doomsday’s X-Men Star Details Surreal Filming With ’35 People’

One of the X-Men actors from Avengers: Doomsday recently recalled their experience filming the upcoming Marvel movie. In a recent interview, they shared that the day when they shot scenes with multiple actors was “surreal.” Dropping in theaters later this year, it will mark Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU as a new character, the villainous Doctor Doom. He will cross paths with not just the mutant team but also the Avengers, New Avengers, and the Fantastic Four.

Rebecca Romijn describes filming Avengers: Doomsday

Rebecca Romijn, who will reprise her role of Mystique from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films in Avengers: Doomsday, recently described her shooting experience, saying it was memorable.

The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star recently interacted with Collider to promote the sci-fi series. During the discussion, the outlet asked her how it felt to be on the set of the Marvel movie, especially during the day when 35 people were present.

“That was a very surreal day. I’ll never forget it,” she replied. “There were two days back-to-back where we were all just kind of looking at each other, going, ‘This is crazy.’ It was very surreal.”

Furthermore, the Femme Fatale star said that returning to play a character she hadn’t played in 20 years, reuniting with her fellow X-Men cast members, and meeting the new cast was also “very surreal” and “very exciting.”

Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18. It will go up against Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part Three, which managed to beat the former in securing IMAX exclusivity for the opening weekend.

The official trailer debuted exclusively at CinemaCon last month, but is yet to be released to the public. Romijn’s Mystique features in the footage, going up against Yelena Belova, whom she shapeshifts into.

A rumor that surfaced last month claims that a majority of the X-Men died while handling incursions. It alleges that Mystique, along with Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Gambit, Wolverine, Deadpool, and an unknown character, are among the survivors.

Anthony and Joe Russo directed Doomsday from Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely’s screenplay. They also co-produced with Marvel Studios via their production banner, AGBO.
