Charlize Theron Reunites With Popular Director for New Action Movie, Title Revealed

Charlize Theron has found her next project, joining up on an upcoming action movie that will see her reunite with a director she’s worked with before.

What is Charlize Theron’s new action movie called?

According to a new report from Deadline, Theron will reunite with director Baltasar Kormákur for his next project. The movie, titled Six Clean Kills, will come from Universal Pictures, and see Theron produce the project with “an eye to star.” The film is based on unpublished Stan Parish novel, with Parish also on board the project to adapt the script.

Plot details for the upcoming movie are unknown as of yet, as they’re being kept under wraps due to the nature of the novel not being out as of yet. Deadline notes the project is being produced through Theron’s first-look deal with Universal, with Kormákur also producing the project.

Both Theron and Kormákur have previously collaborated on Apex, the Netflix action movie that released last month. That film has been a hit for the streamer, debuting at #1 on their global English film list, and remaining in the top ten for two straight weeks since its release. The movie follows the story of a rock climber and kayaker who finds herself being hunted in the wilds of Australia.

Prior to Apex, Theron last appeared in 2025’s The Old Guard 2 and 2023’s Fast X, but is next set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
