Masters of the Universe: Runtime for New He-Man Movie Is Longer Than You Think

With just a month remaining until Masters of the Universe hits the theaters, the hype around the movie is ramping up among longtime He-Man fans. While they wait for the release, a new update has confirmed the movie’s runtime, so audiences will have to stay in their seats longer before the credits roll.

What is the runtime for the Masters of the Universe movie?

When it comes to the movie’s runtime, it’s clear that Masters of the Universe will be on the longer side; however, there’s a twist. Two new listings on Regal and AMC’s websites suggest slightly different runtimes, indicating that the theatrical cut may vary by region.

Regal lists a two-hour and 20-minute runtime, while another listing by AMC says it’ll be two hours and 12 minutes long. It’s not clear which runtime is accurate just yet, but either way, fans are getting more He-Man than expected on the big screen, considering the original Masters of the Universe film clocked in at one hour and 46 minutes back in 1987.

The 2026 movie directed by Travis Knight and produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and DeVon Franklin will feature Nicholas Galitzine in the iconic role of Adam Glenn or He-Man, while Jared Leto will play Skeletor, the villain.

While it’s yet to come out, He-Man’s live-action future already looks secure. Recent reports suggest that plans for a sequel to Masters of the Universe are already underway, which means the studios involved want to begin an ongoing franchise instead of a one-time reboot.

As for the plot, the film will see the lead character Prince Adam (who is also the former Prince of Eternia) return to his destroyed homeland to fight against Skeletor’s rule alongside new allies.

Masters of the Universe will hit the theatres on June 5, 2026.
