Brendan Fraser Follows Up The Mummy 4 With Major Sci-Fi Movie

Brendan Fraser is preparing for a space mission before he reprises the fan-favorite role of Rick in The Mummy 4. The actor has signed on for an exciting sci-fi movie, helmed by an Emmy-winning writer-director, Josh Wakely.

What major sci-fi movie will Brendan Fraser be starring in after The Mummy 4?

According to Deadline, actor Fraser will star in the sci-fi movie Starman, based on an original screenplay by Josh Wakely, known for the acclaimed animated Netflix series Beat Bugs and its follow-up, Motown Magic.

Starman will see Brendan Fraser playing Tom Adams, a visionary technologist who launches an ambitious expedition to Mars. But when things get out of control while away from Earth, his mission turns into a race against time, driven not only by survival, but also by love.

Grace: A Storytelling Company will produce Starman, alongside Eddie Vaisman of Sight Unseen. The latter was also a producer on Fraser’s recent comedy-drama movie, Rental Family. Grace’s Wakely and Rebecca Graham are also serving as producers on the upcoming sci-fi movie alongside David S. Goyer as executive producer. Moreover, production begins this summer.

Fraser is quite busy this year with multiple projects before The Mummy 4 eventually comes out. Later this month, he will be seen portraying President Dwight D. Eisenhower in a movie titled Pressure. It’s set to hit theaters on May 29, 2026. Next up, he will also appear alongside Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray in Diamond, directed by Andy Garcia, which is going to have a world premiere at Cannes.

As for The Mummy 4, Brendan Fraser will make a long-awaited comeback while reteaming with actress Rachel Weisz. The film was initially set for 2028, but its date was later moved to an early slot. It will now hit theaters worldwide on October 15, 2027.
