1st Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Trailer Gets Same Reactions From Critics
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse may be a year away from its release date, but early reactions to its first trailer have started to come in already. Even though the teaser has yet to be released to the general public, several critics and industry insiders managed to get a look at the trailer during an exclusive screening at CinemaCon, drawing strong reactions.

Critics who have seen it appear overwhelmingly positive about the Spider-Verse 3 trailer, with almost every reviewer showering the first teaser with praise.
During the recently conducted 2026 CinemaCon, the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse team showed the movie’s debut trailer to a select audience.
Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic Rosa Parra noted that the animation showcased in the Spider-Verse 3 trailer surpasses the quality of the first two parts. “Just when you think you’ve seen it all from the animation medium, this sneak peek managed to surpass everything I had seen from its predecessors. My eyes are still processing what I witnessed. Otherworldly,” she remarked.
DiscussingFilm co-owner Andrew J. Salazar seconded Parra’s observations about the first trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse by writing, “It looks like we are going to see more of Spider-Punk’s dimension in ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ and it looks like some of the best visuals the team has produced so far.”
Meanwhile, Reel Rejects’ Coy Jandreau described his excitement around the project by stating, “Chills FULL BODY CHILLS. ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ is very likely to cement these masterpieces as my favorite trilogy of all time. Saw the first 3/4 mins in its entirety! Animation evolved even from Across the So much EMOTION throughout.” In a follow-up update, Jandreau further described the footage as “sensational, spectacular, and amazing.”
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently on track to hit theaters on June 18, 2027.
