The selection spans a wide range of vehicles, from compact speeders and racing machines to larger transport units and airborne crafts used throughout the series.

Star Wars in Motion is one of more than 30 installations scheduled for the museum’s opening. All inaugural presentations have been curated by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, drawing from the museum’s founding collection.

According to museum, the exhibitions will “trace the evolution of human culture through visual storytelling, from ancient sculptures of gods and goddesses to Renaissance paintings to photographs, comics, and modern cinema.”

In total, the opening displays will feature more than 1,200 objects across over 30 galleries, covering approximately 100,000 square feet.
