Margot Robbie’s Newest R-Rated Movie Arrives on HBO Max Today
HBO Max expands its movie library with the addition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ recently released R-rated movie, which was led by Academy Award nominees Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Beginning today, 2026’s latest period romantic drama film Wuthering Heights is now finally available to stream on HBO Max.
What do we know about Margot Robbie’s Wuthering Heights movie?
The new Wuthering Heights movie was based on Emily Brontë’s classic 1847 novel. Robbie plays Catherine, who is torn between her passionate love affair with Heathcliff and the chance to gain social status through marrying someone she doesn’t love. Despite receiving mixed reviews during its theatrical run, the film was still a box office success, grossing over $241 million worldwide. Compared to its low Tomatometer rating of 58% on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie garnered a higher Popcornmeter score at 76%.
“A bold and original imagining of one of the greatest love stories of all time, the movie follows Cathy and Heathcliff, whose forbidden passion for one another turns from romantic to intoxicating in an epic tale of lust, love, and madness,” reads the official synopsis.
Promising Young Woman filmmaker Emerald Fennell wrote and directed the new Wuthering Heights movie, with Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara serving as producers for LuckyChap Entertainment. This marked Elordi’s second collaboration with Fennell, after 2023’s Saltburn. The cast also included Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton, Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton, Owen Cooper as the young Heathcliff, Charlotte Mellington as the young Catherine, and Vy Nguyen as the young Nelly. It was executive-produced by Sara Desmond.
