George Clooney & Brad Pitt’s NSFW Movie Hits Netflix Today

One of Focus Features’ acclaimed black comedy movies starring Academy Award winners George Clooney and Brad Pitt has finally found a new streaming home in Netflix. During its theatrical run, the 2008 film grossed over $163 million at the box office against a budget of around $37 million.

As of today, 2008’s star-studded film Burn After Reading is now officially available to stream on Netflix. In the movie, Clooney plays a U.S. Marshal who has an affair with the wife of a CIA agent, while Pitt stars as a gym employee. The ensemble cast also included Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton, J. K. Simmons, and Richard Jenkins. Since its debut, it has received fairly positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Certified Fresh score of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 241 reviews.

“When a disc containing memoirs of a former CIA analyst falls into the hands of Linda Litzke and Chad Feldheimer, the two gym employees see a chance to make enough money for her to have life-changing cosmetic surgery. Predictably, events whirl out of control for the duo of doofuses and those in their orbit,” reads the official synopsis.

Burn After Reading was written and directed by award-winning filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen, who also edited the film under the pseudonym Roderick Jaynes. It was produced by the Coen brothers, with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Robert Graf serving as executive producers. Before starring in the 2008 film, Clooney and Pitt first worked together in the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy movies.
