Under Paris 2: Netflix Shark Movie Gets Major Update, Poster, & Release Date Window
Netflix revealed the release date window and production update for Under Paris 2, the sequel to the popular 2024 shark movie.
When is the Under Paris 2 release date window?
Under Paris 2 arrives on Netflix in 2027. The streamer released a poster with sharks swimming in front of France’s Eiffel Tower.

Per Variety, Under Paris 2 is now in production in the South of France. The sequel is set three years after the events of Under Paris.
Returning cast members include Bérénice Bejo as marine scientist Sophia and Nassim Lyes as police commander Adil. Guillaume Gouix, Philippe Bas, Manon Bresch, and Anne Marivin have been announced as new additions to the sequel.
“Three years after the Paris triathlon disaster, the center of the Capital is submerged,” the sequel’s logline reads. “Sophia (Bejo) and Adil (Lyes) reunite for a high-risk mission: to track Lilith, the original predator, in the shark-infested Seine. There, they will discover that the deadly wildlife hides a much more surprising reality…”
Alexandre Aja steps in to direct Under Paris 2. Aja is best known for directing 2010’s Piranha 3D, 2019’s Crawl, and 2024’s Never Let Go. Xavier Gens, who wrote and directed Under Paris, will pen the sequel alongside Aja, Gregory Levasseur, Frédéric Garcia, William Laboury, and Fanny Talmone. Vincent Roget is producing, with Aja and Gens as associate producers.
In Under Paris, hundreds of competitors flock to the city for the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine River. Sophia learns that Lilith, a shortfin mako shark that escaped three years prior, is swimming in the river. Sophia and Adil join forces to stop the triathlon before it turns into a blood bath.
Released in 2024, Under Paris became an international sensation on Netflix. To date, Under Paris is the second-most popular non-English Netflix movie of all time behind Troll.
