Directed by David Frankel, the sequel to 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada sees Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprise their respective roles as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton, and Nigel Kipling.

Most of the reviews for The Devil Wears Prada 2 say that the highlight of the film is seeing Streep, Tucci, Hathaway, and Blunt step back into these roles. This means that fans of the first movie who simply want to relive that nostalgia might have a better time with the film than those who are expecting a brand-new story or something totally original.

That is to also say, there are a lot of callbacks to the first movie and cameos, meaning those who are eagerly awaiting The Devil Wears Prada 2 but haven’t seen the first movie in a while may want to go back and give it a rewatch beforehand.

Speaking of cameos, however, those who are particularly excited to see Sydney Sweeney’s appearance in the film should brace for disappointment, as it’s been reported that her scene has been cut from the movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, this scene was cut because it “did not work structurally with the rest of the sequence.”
