Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Beloved Action Thriller Is a Free Streaming Hit

Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s iconic action thriller movie Predator has become a massive success on free streaming. One of the most celebrated monster movies of all time, its enduring popularity has led to numerous sequels, as well as novels, video games, and comic books.

Predator ranks high on Tubi charts

Predator holds the third spot on Tubi’s overall chart, as of April 30, 2026, according to FlixPatrol. The movie climbed up to the top position yesterday but has since climbed down two spots. Drew Barrymore’s Ever After: A Cinderella Story and Nicolas Cage’s The Rock currently hold the top two slots. Meanwhile, the other entries on the list are The Fugitive, Let’s Be Cops, Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, Sweet Home Alabama, Blood and Bone, and Predator 2. Interestingly, Predator 2 was at the top of the Tubi charts a week earlier.

Notably, the data from FlixPatrol isn’t necessarily complete. However, it can offer a broader picture.

John McTiernan directed Predator from a script by siblings Jim and John Thomas. In the movie, Schwarzenegger stars as Dutch, the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team. The film’s cast also includes Carl Weathers as Al Dillon, Richard Chaves as Poncho Ramirez, Sonny Landham as Billy Sole, Bill Duke as Mac Eliot, Jesse Ventura as Blain Cooper, Elpidia Carrillo as Anna Gonsalves, Shane Black as Rick Hawkins, and R. G. Armstrong as General Homer Phillips. Additionally, Kevin Peter Hall portrays the titular Predator, with Peter Cullen providing the voice.

Following its release, the movie made $98 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo). It currently has a 64% approval rating on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes after 116 reviews. Duane Byrge of The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “Visually, Predator is a full-assault experience. Director John McTiernan mixes his range of shots with fast precision and full-blast effect.”

The Predator franchise continues to thrive even today. The most recent entry is Predator: Badlands, which came out in 2025.
