Scarlett Johansson’s Shocked Reaction To Co-Owning a Strange Asset Revealed

Colin Jost recently revealed the reaction his wife, Scarlett Johansson, had when she learned that he purchased a decommissioned ferry with comedian Pete Davidson. The veteran SNL stars bought the ferry in 2023 and have since then joked about the same in multiple different contexts.

During a latest podcast appearance, the SNL veteran revealed how his wife reacted on hearing that he had purchased a ferry with fellow comedian Pete Davidson and comedy club owner Dave Italia.

“You paid, you still have to pay, like, don’t you,” co-host Sean Hayes said on the SmartLess podcast. “These are [the] exact questions a financial advisor asks me,” Colin Jost joked in response.

Jost, who is also the co-host of SNL’s Weekend Update, revealed that this ferry, MV John F. Kennedy, had sentimental value for him. “It was this one,” he said while noting that he took this ferry to Regis High School on the Upper East Side each day from his home on Staten Island.

The 43-year-old recalled how he texted Davidson about his plans to purchase it, and the latter enthusiastically joined in on the endeavor. Furthermore, Jost revealed that he first texted his father, “who is a teacher on Staten Island. And he literally was like, ‘Did you do your homework?’ Which is such a teacher thing to say. I was like, ‘Dad, I’m just sort of texting you as a formality. I already bought the boat.”

Colin Jost then informed his wife, Scarlett Johansson. “Then I texted Scarlett, like, ‘Guess what? We own a ferry now.’ And she was like, ‘We?'” he recalled.

Since then, both Jost and Davidson have joked about the ferry multiple times. However, the duo still has big plans for the decommissioned ferry with architect Ron Castellano.

“I was thinking in a real estate way, if you put it somewhere, it’s 70,000 square feet. So I was like, ‘If you put that on a dock in Manhattan, you’ve suddenly got basically a building on the waterfront,” Jost shared. “It’s going to be fine,” he reassured, “Is this a good financial sign where you’re like, ‘It’s fine!'”

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s prized possession.
