David Corenswet Taught Milly Alcock the Most Important Thing About Supergirl
In the build-up to the release of Supergirl, the film’s lead star, Milly Alcock, has revealed that her DCU co-star David Corenswet was of great help to her as she prepared for the role. Alcock recently spoke about how she asked Corenswet for advice on almost “everything” during filming, including a pivotal aspect of being a Kryptonian superhero.
How David Corenswet helped Milly Alcock prepare for Supergirl
During her recent appearance at CCXP Mexico, Milly Alcock disclosed that she sought advice from Superman actor David Corenswet in order to learn everything about flying as she prepped for the role of Kara Zor-El.
“David was on set, and I asked him for advice about everything, and he was very lovely, very warm,” the Hose of the Dradron star noted. “But yeah, I was just, like, ‘How do you fly? How does it work? What do I do? Help me!'”
Alcock has already worn the red cape on the big screen, having made a cameo appearance in the final moments of Corenswet’s debut Superman movie. Dressed in her Supergirl outfit, an inebriated Kara Zor-El meets up with her elder cousin in the Fortress of Solitude. She takes away Krypto to leave for more otherworldly adventures, setting up the stage for her solo film.
While Milly Alcock may have consulted David Corenswet for advice on her leading DCU role, she chose not to do so with actresses who have previously donned the Supergirl mantle. When asked if she had any exchange with Sasha Calle, who played Supergirl in the DCEU, or Melissa Benoist, who played the character for The CW, in a recent interview, Alcock replied, “They’re just people living their lives. It’s not like we have this blood bond.”
Directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Alcock, Corenswet, Jason Momoa, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Eve Ridley in pivotal roles, Supergirl will arrive in theaters on June 26, 2026.
