Resident Evil Movie Logo Teases Zach Cregger’s Terrifying Horror Movie

Promotion for Zach Cregger‘s upcoming Resident Evil movie has begun with the reveal of the logo for the horror movie adaptation of the hit video game series.

The new logo for the film has arrived alongside the film’s official website. Currently, the website teases the release date, September 18, 2026, as well as the film showing in premium formats, including IMAX.

The logo is very reminiscent of the game’s logo. The title looks to have various cracks and lines through it, as if it’s being infected by something. Check out the new logo below:

What do we know about Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie?

While the exact plot details of the film remain unknown, the story will be wholly original with no real ties to any of the previous game entries. The movie will focus on a medical courier, Bryan, who is trying to deliver a package on a snowy night and finds himself caught in Raccoon City during an outbreak that sends things into chaos.

The new Resident Evil movie will be directed by Cregger, who co-wrote the screenplay with Army of the Dead and John Wick: Chapter 4 scribe Shay Hatten. Euphoria and Weapons star Austin Abrams leads the film, with Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson also set to star in the film.

The legendary video game franchise has been no stranger to movie adaptations, with seven different films having been made dating back to 2002, most of which have starred Milla Jovovich.

Cregger is best known for his work as one of the founding members of the comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’Know, which he founded alongside Sam Brown and the late Trevor Moore. Cregger also directed the 2009 comedy Miss March but broke out as a director following the 2022 horror film Barbarian, which became a massive success and garnered positive praise from the horror community. His latest film, Weapons, was a massive hit and earned $270 million at the global box office.
