Maika Monroe & Jason Isaacs’ Victorian Psycho Gets Poster, New Look Ahead of Cannes Debut
Bleecker Street has shared the official poster for Victorian Psycho, its newest period horror thriller starring Longlegs’ Maika Monroe and Harry Potter’s Jason Isaacs.
This comes ahead of its upcoming world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Afterward, the film will then arrive in theaters on September 25, pitting it directly against Universal Pictures’ Forgotten Island at the box office. It will also be debuting in the same month as high-profile movies like Practical Magic 2, Runner, Resident Evil, and Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.
Who is in the Victorian Psycho poster?
The first Victorian Psycho poster features an unknown hand holding a shiny and seemingly bloodied spoon. It shows the reflection of Monroe’s distressed charafter on the back of the spoon, teasing what could have potentially made her scream. This marks Monroe’s latest horror project, after 2024’s Longlegs movie with Nicolas Cage. Before the It Follows star was cast, Margaret Qualley was originally attached to lead project at A24 for nearly a year. After Qualley exited, the movie also moved from A24 to Bleecker Street.
“An eccentric governess arrives at a remote gothic manor, where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems,” reads the official synopsis.

The movie is directed by Sanctuary filmmaker Zachary Wigon, with Virginia Feito writing the screenplay based on her 2025 novel of the same name. The ensemble cast includes Monroe as Winifred Notty, Isaacs as Mr. Pounds, Thomasin McKenzie as Ms. Lamb, Amy De Bhrún as Mrs. Fancey, Jacobi Jupe as Andrew, and Ruth Wilson. It is produced by Wigon, Dan Kagan, Sebastien Raybaud, and Nick Shumaker.
