What Willem Dafoe movie is now available on Peacock?

Beginning today, Dafoe’s Gothic horror thriller Nosferatu is finally available to stream on Peacock. The movie was written and directed by Robert Eggers, based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula and Henrik Galeen’s Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror. In the film, Dafoe portrays a Swiss philosopher who’s an expert in the occult. This marked Eggers and Dafeo’s latest collaboration after 2019’s The Lighthouse and 2022’s The Northman.

The ensemble cast also included Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding, Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter, Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, Emma Corrin as Anna Harding, Ralph Ineson as Dr. Wilhelm Sievers, and Simon McBurney as Herr Knock. The film also became Eggers’ highest-grossing movie to date, grossing around $182 million at the box office over its reported budget of $50 million.

“The film is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

The film was produced by Eggers, Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus. In the 2025 Academy Awards, the movie earned four nominations, including Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
