Shelter reportedly gets streaming release date on Starz

Shelter is expected to debut on Starz on May 30, 2026, according to When To Stream’s recent report. This marks its transition to streaming following its theatrical release earlier this year.

The action thriller, led by Jason Statham, premiered in the United States on January 30, 2026. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film follows Michael Mason, a former government assassin who has chosen a life of isolation on a remote Scottish island, living quietly with his dog for company.

The story begins when Mason rescues a young girl named Jessie from the sea during a storm after a shipwreck that kills her uncle. While he attempts to help her recover, his actions reveal his location to individuals connected to his past. This leads to a dangerous situation, as a black-ops unit is sent to track him down.

As the threat escalates, Mason is forced to use his training and familiarity with the terrain to protect Jessie and confront those pursuing him. The cast also includes Bodhi Rae Breathnach as Jessie, Bill Nighy as Manafort, Naomi Ackie as Roberta, Daniel Mays as Arthur Booth, and Céline Buckens as Maddison.

In terms of reviews, Shelter holds a 65 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, its audience rating stands at 87 percent. The Guardian reported, “Honestly, there isn’t a single step in Shelter’s plot that isn’t entirely predictable, but to the film’s credit the fight choreography is solid and young Breathnach proves.”

The film has grossed approximately $53 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
