New Adam Sandler Netflix Movie Begins Streaming Today
Netflix subscribers can now finally watch its newest coming-of-age comedy movie from producer Adam Sandler. The Grown Ups star has been in partnership with the streamer since 2014, with The Ridiculous 6 serving as his first original Netflix movie. Beginning today, the Sadie Sandler-led film Roommates is officially available to stream on Netflix.
What do we know about Adam Sandler’s newest Netflix movie?
In addition to producing, Adam Sandler is also playing a character named Danny Schilling in the film. This marks Sadie Sandler’s latest collaboration with her father, after starring together in last year’s Happy Gilmore 3 and Jay Kelly. The ensemble cast also includes Chloe East, Billy Bryk, Sarah Sherman, Martin Herlihy, Josh Segarra, Carol Kane, Janeane Garofalo, Aidan Langford, Bella Murphy, Jaya Harper, Storm Reid, Ivy Wolk, and Bailee Madison, with Natasha Lyonne and Nick Kroll.
“When a hopeful, naive college freshman, Devon, asks the cool and confident Celeste to be her roommate, a blossoming friendship spirals into a war of passive aggression,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
Roommates was directed by Chandler Levack, with Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara Jane O’Sullivan writing the screenplay. The film was executive-produced by Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, and Jackie Shenoo. Adam Sandler is producing alongside Tim Herlihy. Before Sadie, her younger sister, Sunny Sandler, also got to lead her own coming-of-age Netflix movie in 2023, titled You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
After Roomates, his next projects with Netflix include: the upcoming musical teen drama Don’t Say Good Luck, led by Sunny Sandler and Melanie Lynskey; and the thriller drama film Time Out with Willem Dafoe and Steve Zahn.
