New TMNT Movie Will Feature 2 Iconic Villains
Two major villains have been officially confirmed to appear in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, setting the stage for some big battles.
What villains will appear in the new TMNT movie?
During the ongoing CinemaCon 2026, writer and producer Seth Rogen confirmed that both Shredder and Krang, perhaps the two most iconic villains in the world of TMNT, would be appearing in the highly anticipated sequel film.
Shredder’s inclusion in the movie should come as no surprise as he briefly appeared in the post-credits scene of the original movie. Screenwriter and director Jeff Rowe even said a few years ago that Shredder would be a main focus of the movie, which aims to be more “villain-forward.” Shredder, of course, is the main antagonist of the turtles in the franchise, and is often portrayed as the leader of the Foot Clan. A ruthless fighter, Shredder wears a suit of armor and is equipped with metal blades along his hands.
Krang, however, is a surprise, and a new inclusion. Besides Shredder, Krang is one of the most recognizable characters in the world of TMNT, and is featured heavily throughout any iteration. In the original animated series, Krang is an alien warlord that is stripped of his body and reduced down to just a brain, which often finds him needing housing in the form of an android body. He and Shredder are often portrayed as allies.
Currently, it’s unclear who will play both characters, although we’ll likely know more information soon. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 is set to release on August 13, 2027.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem featured the voices of Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michaelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, and Brady Noon as Raphael. The film also featured a star-studded supporting cast that included Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, John Cena as Rocksteady, Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Seth Rogen as Bebop, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
