New Street Fighter Trailer & Posters Preview Ridiculous & Fun Action Movie

Paramount Pictures has shared a new trailer for Street Fighter, its live-action adaptation of Capcom’s popular fighting game series. The action comedy movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 16, 2026.

“Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu and Ken Masters are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury,” reads the official synopsis. “But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”

What happens in the new Street Fighter trailer?

The video highlights the movie’s main cast, showing off the newest iterations of fan-favorite characters like Ken, Ryu, and Chun-Li. It features Andrew Koji‘s Ryu and Noah Centineo‘s Ken as estranged friends who get reunited through another combat tournament, which will serve as their only shot at redemption. The new trailer also offers a glimpse at some of the film’s exciting and fun action-packed sequences.

The upcoming Street Fighter movie is directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip), who co-wrote the screenplay with T.J. Fixman, based on a story by Dalan Musson and Gary Dauberman. The ensemble cast will also include Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Orville Peck as Vega, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.

Sakurai is no stranger to adapting video games, as he previously directed episodes of the Peacock series Twisted Metal. Before Sakurai boarded the project, Talk to Me and Bring Her Back directing duo Danny and Michael Philippou were previously enlisted to direct the movie. Producers are Momoa, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Takayuki Nakayama, and Stefan Makhoul, with JJ Hook, Jay Ashenfelter, Kenzo Tsujimoto, and Haruhiro Tsujimoto serving as executive producers.
