New Masters of the Universe Trailer Shows He-Man Struggle To Fight
Amazon MGM Studios shared new footage of Masters of the Universe at CinemaCon, providing a sneak peek at the upcoming movie. The clip comes two weeks after the release of the official trailer. Releasing this summer, the movie is based on Mattel’s media franchise. Its story follows Adam/He-Man as he returns to his homeworld, Eternia, to save it, along with the rest of the universe, from Skeletor and his villainous army.
New Masters of the Universe footage shown at CinemaCon
Amazon MGM Studios showed up with new information regarding their upcoming slate of films for 2026, 2027, and later at this year’s CinemaCon. They also offered new looks at some of them, including Masters of the Universe.
The Masters of the Universe footage starts with Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) being jokingly referred to as Highlander (via The Hollywood Reporter). Not long after, Beast Man arrives and fights him. Adam struggles until Teela (Camila Mendes) steps in to save him. She jogs his memory and takes him back to Eternia. He soon meets several allies, realizing he has to give a speech to make them remember he is the Prince of the planet.
The clip also features Skeletor (Jared Leto), who first shows up with his glowing eyes. He asks Adam, “You can pretend to be the hero. But without the sword, who are you?” (via Deadline).
Adam transforms into He-Man after calling on the Power of Grayskull. This kicks off a wild showdown, complete with swordplay and monster combat. Skeletor orders his forces to grab He-Man’s sword while the latter dares them to even try. Eventually, a big enemy enters the picture and knocks him down twice, once with an axe and later with a horn headbutt. However, the hero gets back up both times to resume the fight (via Brandon Davis on X).
Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie) and Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba) also appear in the clip. The latter, in particular, made a strong impression on viewers.
Masters of the Universe premieres in theaters on June 5, 2026. Travis Knight directed from Chris Butler, Aaron, Adam Nee, and David Callaham’s screenplay.
