Jason Momoa Reveals the ‘Most Boss Level S– He’s Ever Done’
Jason Momoa recently drew comparisons to playing Aquaman in DCEU and Lobo in Supergirl in the latest interview. While he acknowledges that Aquaman was challenging to play, he believes that depicting Lobo brought out a sense of individuality and an unmatched aura. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the superhero movie starring Milly Alcock will hit the theaters on June 26, 2026.
Jason Momoa on playing Lobo
In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the interviewer asked Jason Momoa whether he ever compared the feeling of playing his two DC characters, Aquaman and Lobo. Sharing his thoughts on portraying Aquaman, he said, “It was tough. I mean, that was a very challenging part of my life.” He revealed that it was similar to the challenging process of depicting Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, which was his big shot, too. He then reflected on keeping the role secret for years, which he didn’t enjoy, as he prefers to announce things when they happen.
Reflecting on his Aquaman journey, he added, “Putting on Aquaman. It was cool grabbing the trident. It is wonderful. But it was also really scary. Like, this guy has been made fun of in most comics. And we brought a whole new life to that.” However, he expressed that he also loves playing Lobo and described it as “too good.” He said that when he puts everything on and walks out of the trailer to the set, one can hear the sound of the chains, garnering everyone’s attention. Describing that character experience, he said, “It’s the most boss-level s*** I’ve ever done.”
During Warner’s CinemaCon presentation, footage from Supergirl was showcased to the audience before the cast took the stage to share their excitement for the movie. Momoa said to the crowd quickly, “This is a dream come true. This is the comic I collected” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
