Gal Gadot & Isla Fisher Join Pete Davidson’s Retitled Thriller Movie, Plot Revealed

The upcoming Doug Liman-directed thriller, previously titled Killing Satoshi, is now officially titled Bitcoin. The project has also tapped Superwoman’s Gal Gadot and Now You See Me’s Isla Fisher to star alongside previously announced cast members Casey Affleck and Pete Davidson. 

What is Gal Gadot & Pete Davidson’s Bitcoin movie about?

The thriller movie from the Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity filmmaker will delve into the true story of a man with the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto who is on a mission to prove he is the mysterious creator behind Bitcoin. The plot synopsis reads as follows:

“Bitcoin is the true story of one man’s quest to prove that he is, in fact, the creator of Bitcoin — a claim that puts his life in peril and sets off a global firestorm and a wild, high-stakes race between the who’s who of tech billionaires and world leaders, with the fate of the world’s entire financial system hanging in the balance, all leading to the question, ‘Why do the world’s most powerful people want to erase one man, and why would they spend hundreds of millions of dollars to do it?'”

Gadot will star in Bitcoin as Charlotte “Lotte” Miller, while Fisher’s role has yet to be announced. Davidson, on the other hand, stars as Calvin Ayre, while Affleck will take on the role of computer scientist Craig Wright.

The film will see Gadot and Fisher reunite after starring together in the 2016 action comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses. The film also reunites Liman with Affleck, who worked together on the 2024 heist comedy film The Instigators. 

Production on Bitcoin officially began at the end of February. The project, produced by Ryan Kavanaugh and Lawrence Grey, is written by Gran Torino, The Judge, and The Mule screenwriter Nick Schenk.
