Angel Studios has released the official trailer for The Brink of War. The Cold War drama arrives in theaters on August 14, 2026.

The film centers on President Ronald Reagan’s high-stakes negotiations with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Their meeting at the Reykjavik Summit could dismantle nuclear arsenals or push the world toward disaster. Every word spoken brings both leaders closer to peace or destruction.

Jeff Daniels stars as Ronald Reagan in the SK Global and 2521 Entertainment production. Jared Harris portrays Mikhail Gorbachev, while Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons plays Secretary of State George Shultz. Hope Davis, Branka Katic, Aya Cash, and Guy Burnet round out the cast. Michael Russell Gunn directs the film.
