Runner Teaser Previews New Alan Ritchson Action Thriller, Sets Release Date

The first look at Alan Ritchson‘s next major action movie has been released. The teaser of Runner debuted at CinemaCon 2026, confirming it pairs the Reacher star with Owen Wilson in a high-stakes story about a medical delivery gone dangerously wrong.

The recently released Runner teaser introduces Hank Malone, a former soldier played by Alan Ritchson, who accepts what should be a straightforward task. Owen Wilson’s character, Ben, hands over a cooler containing a liver meant for a sick child. “There’s a little girl that’s very sick, and you’re delivering her new liver,” Ben explains. The stakes become clear immediately that if the organ doesn’t get delivered on time, she will not survive.

Just then, masked gunmen surround their vehicle. Hank asks about black market organ prices, and Bishop estimates the value at up to $1 million. Then, with the understanding of its demand, Hank floors the accelerator. What follows is a rapid montage of fistfights, vehicular chaos, and explosions as Ritchson’s character barrels through every obstacle between him and the hospital.

The teaser closes with Hank gripping the organ case inside a medical facility, making one final push to complete the delivery. His voiceover promises someone on the other end of a phone call, “There’s nothing in the world that’s going to keep us from getting to you.”

The description of the teaser reads, “A former soldier is thrown into a brutal race against time when a critical medical delivery makes him the target of a ruthless cartel. With betrayal closing in from every side, he must survive the chase and deliver his cargo before an innocent child runs out of time.”

Scott Waugh, who previously directed Expend4bles, is directing the project for Angel Studios. The cast also includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, and Scarlett Crabtree.

Runner races into theaters September 11, 2026.
