The Devil Wears Prada 2 Will Get ‘Fresh’ RT Score, Bet Says

A prediction market for The Devil Wears Prada 2 believes that the film will received a ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While this much-anticipated sequel to the 2006 comedy-drama classic does not yet have any early reviews or even early reactions (at the time of writing), many are feeling positive vibes about its reception, enough to put their money on it. Starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and Anne Hathaway in their iconic roles from the first film, this follow-up has been steadily gaining momentum — especially in the form of ever-growing box office projections — as it prepares for its theatrical debut on May 1, 2026 in the US.

Prediction markets for The Devil Wears Prada sequel are optimistic

A Kalshi bet predicts The Devil Wears Prada 2 will receive a Tomatoscore of 70 on Rotten Tomatoes (as of April 13), which is well above the 60-point threshold for a ‘Fresh’ rating.

Looking at the history of the bet, which started on April 2, the average forecast for the film’s RT rating has been within a positive range between 65 and 70. The prediction market has most (75%) believing that the sequel will go past the 60-point mark while being less confident (64%) that it will earn a score over 65. Past that, 48% have it going over 70, 40% think it will go above 75, 29% believe it will clear 80, and 15% are putting their money on it going above 85.

The earliest time we’ll see early reactions to The Devil Wears Prada 2 will likely be its red-carpet world premiere, which takes place on Monday, April 20, at 5:30 PM ET and will be livestreamed on Disney+ and Hulu. The majority of the cast along with Frankel and McKenna will be in attendance at the event that takes place at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

A week afterwards, there will be early screenings for the sequel, particularly one on April 27 for Vogue Book Club members and another on April 30 at AMC Dolby Cinemas and El Capitan Theatre. According to EmbargoLiftsFor on X (formerly Twitter), the review embargo for the film will be on April 29.

On top of that, a separate prediction market bet on Polymarket that asks how much The Devil Wears Prada 2 will earn through its domestic opening weekend shows the high level of anticipation for the film. As of April 13, the majority of betters (39%) believe that it will earn over $100 million in its opener in the US and Canada. Another 21% think that number will land between $90 million and $100 million. Still, both of these estimates are around the upper estimate for several box office predictions made on April 10 that, when combined together, believe the film will make somewhere between $66 million to $105 million within that time period.

So far, the marketing campaign for the sequel has been robust. The initial teaser trailer for the film released in November 2025 featuring Streep and Hathaway gathered over 11 million views on YouTube, while the final trailer that released only a week ago on April 6 has garnered over 13 million views. Most final trailers for a movie tend to receive a much lower amount of views than the initial teasers, so this shows how incredible the hype train has been for the movie. Even the film’s crossover ad with L’Oreal Paris received over 8.7 million views.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 has the additional benefit of being a movie that is targeted toward multi-generational female audiences, which doesn’t typically receive as much attention during the blockbuster season, though it has enough broad appeal to get walk-ins and casual viewers at the cinema. Its main competition in May includes Mortal Kombat 2, Michael, and The Mandalorian & Grogu, all of which are expected to have minimal impact on this sequel’s theatrical run at the box office.
