Heart Eyes 2: Olivia Holt & Mason Gooding Horror Movie Sequel Gets Major Update

Heart Eyes 2 has received a major update sure to excite fans looking forward to the horror sequel.

According to a new report from Dread Central, Olivia Holt is in talks to join the Hearts Eyes sequel, reuniting with star Mason Gooding and writer-director Josh Ruben, both of whom were previously reported to be returning for a second movie.

In the original movie, Holt and Gooding starred as a Ally and Jay, a couple who goes on a date and is stalked by the Heart Eyes Killer. “For the past several years, the ‘Heart Eyes Killer’ has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe,” reads the official synopsis for the movie.

Alongside Holt and Gooding, Heart Eyes also starred Gigi Zumbado, Michaela Watkins, Devin Sawa, and Jordana Brewster. The movie’s release received generally positive reviews, and grossed over $33 million at the box office, which Dread Central notes contributed to sequel discussions.

Should the film come to be, it’ll continue Holt and Gooding’s status as mainstays in the world of horror, with Holt having starred in the 2023 time travel horror movie Totally Killer. Gooding has appeared in all of the new Scream films as well as in the disaster comedy horror movie Y2K from A24.
