The Pitt Star Joins David Harbour on Horror Movie From Robert Downey Jr.
Casting continues to heat up for the upcoming psychological horror adaptation A Head Full of Ghosts. The project, which counts Robert Downey Jr. among its big-name producers, has just added another familiar face from The Pitt to its growing cast.
Fiona Dourif cast in A Head Full of Ghosts
Fiona Dourif, who currently stars as Dr. Cassie McKay in the hit Max medical drama The Pitt, has officially joined the cast of A Head Full of Ghosts, Variety reported. The actress will appear opposite a strong lineup that includes Stranger Things star David Harbour, Rebecca Hall, and Esmé Creed-Miles.
The film, based on Paul Tremblay’s acclaimed book, tells the chilling story of a suburban family torn apart when their teenage daughter’s apparent descent into madness becomes the subject of an exploitative reality television show. The arc shifts between the horrific events of the past and a present-day reckoning 15 years later, as the surviving sister confronts a journalist about the true nature of the evil that destroyed her home.
Dourif and Harbour step into the roles of the parents caught in this media-fueled nightmare. Bodhi Rae Breathnach plays Marjorie, the older teenage sister whose erratic behavior sets the tragedy in motion. Newcomer Hollie Hill-Pearson plays young Merry, while Creed-Miles takes on the role of an adult Merry, forced to revisit the trauma years later.
The production comes from Team Downey, with Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr. producing alongside The Allegiance Theater’s Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine. Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, the directing duo known for the unsettling atmosphere of Goodnight Mommy, will write and helm the project.
Fiona Dourif brings major genre credentials to the table beyond her current role on The Pitt. Her filmography includes appearances in Tenet and The Master. She joins a cast that continues to gain momentum as production eyes a start date.
