Morgan Jay & Nick Darnell Star in Comedy Movie Cotton Candy Bubble Gum Trailer | Exclusive
ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Cotton Candy Bubble Gum, an offbeat comedy film starring stand-up comedian Morgan Jay and newcomer Nick Darnell. Following its premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, the movie will now be available to rent or own on digital platforms, starting on May 12, 2026.
“In the film, Carter, a 21-year-old momma’s boy who still lives at home, sees his cushy life crumble before his eyes when his mom gets engaged to a spiteful cop who can’t wait to kick him out. But when Carter gets an opportunity to turn his internship into a full-time assistant position, he offers to pay rent to his mom, who reneges and gives in,” reads the official synopsis. “The only problem is that he must complete the impossibly long list of tasks his boss throws at him, including babysitting his teenage son. But after the antics of his drug dealer friend lead him down a path of chaotic situations, including a standoff with a world-famous rapper, his fortitude, character, and grit are pushed to the limits in this coming-of-age comedy.”

What happens in the Cotton Candy Bubble Gum trailer?
The video introduces a young man whose bad day turns for the worse when he somehow gets involved in a series of chaotic situations due to his drug dealer friend. The trailer highlights some of the crazy antics that they’ll get themselves into, including mistakenly getting on the bad side of a famous rapper.
Cotton Candy Bubble Gum is written and directed by J. Pinder, who is also executive producing alongside Michael Arnold. The ensemble cast also includes R. Marcus Taylor, JadaPaige, Jack Stone, Ben Scattone, Mildred Langford, Txunamy Ortiz, Ayden Mekus, Neela Jolene, Jeremiah Watkins, Chip tha Ripper, and Nikki Howard. When the movie debuted at the Hollywood Film Festival, it won the Best Comedy award.
