Spider-Man: Brand New Day Reshoots Get New Details From Tom Holland

Tom Holland revealed that new scenes are being added to Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of its summer release date.

What did Tom Holland say about the Spider-Man: Brand New Day reshoots?

While speaking with GQ, Holland shared that he’s in London shooting additional photography for Brand New Day. Holland called the work “really, really fun” and teased one of the new storylines.

“I can positively say that the stuff we’re doing, we don’t need,” Holland said. “The movie works and sings as it is. We’re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas. We’re finding some ways to add a little bit more humor. We’re layering in a villain plotline in a new way and some really fun stuff.”

Holland will step back into the role of Peter Parker for his fourth solo outing in the MCU, following 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Additional Marvel movies featuring Holland’s Spider-Man include 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up four years after the events of No Way Home, where Dr. Strange’s spell made the world forget about Peter Parker.

“Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify,” the official synopsis reads, “the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”

Besides Holland, Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s cast includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Sadie Sink has been cast in an undisclosed role, though many rumors state the Stranger Things star will be playing Jean Grey. Tramell Tillman has also been cast in Spider-Man 4.

Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
