Josh Gad & Alexandria Daddario Star in Comedy Movie Couples Weekend Trailer

Vertical has shared the official trailer for Couples Weekend, the upcoming comedy-drama starring Josh Gad and Alexandria Daddario. Following its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival, the movie is now slated to debut on May 8 in theaters and on digital platforms.

“Trapped in a cozy cabin by a blizzard, two couples ring in the New Year with a mysterious cocktail that strips away their inhibitions, turning their romantic getaway into chaos with a showdown of secrets, betrayals, and rapidly shifting loyalties,” reads the film’s synopsis.

What happens in the Couples Weekend trailer?

The video introduces two couples who have decided to celebrate the holidays together. However, what was supposed to be a romantic and blissful weekend turns into chaos when Daddario and Gad’s characters discover that their respective partners have been having a secret affair together. Due to a blizzard, they are stuck with each other to deal with the messy aftermath of the affair getting exposed.

Originally titled A Tree Fell in the Woods, the movie is written and directed by Nora Kirkpatrick in her feature directorial debut. Kirkpatrick previously served as a writer on Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six series. Joining Dadarrio and Gad are Daveed Diggs, Ashley Park, Kevin Pollak, and more.

Couples Weekend is executive-produced by Kirkpatrick, Nicolas Chartier, Jonathan Deckter, and Brian Pitt, with Lynette Howell Taylor and Samantha Housman serving as producers. The creative team consists of cinematographer Jeff Leeds Cohn, editor Henry Hayes, composer Mitchell Yoshida, casting director Jessica Kelly, production designer Liam Moore, and costume designer Bryn Carter.
