Tom Felton’s Harry Potter Return Gets Major Update

Tom Felton isn’t saying goodbye to Draco Malfoy just yet. The actor has extended his run on Broadway as the fan-favorite Harry Potter character.

What is the latest on Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy return?

Harry Potter fans will now have until almost the end of the year to see Felton’s Draco Malfoy return on Broadway. The actor is now set to remain in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child through November 1, 2026. He was originally set to depart on March 22, 2026, after a 19-week stint at the Lyric Theatre in New York City.

However, those looking to book some tickets to see Felton on Broadway should be aware that the actor is not scheduled to appear at performances on May 11 through 31, August 17-23, September 14-20, and October 12-18, per Variety.

“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play,” said Felton back in June 2025, when his Broadway debut was first announced.

“It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes — and of course his iconic platinum blond hair — and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community,” he added at the time.

Felton is the first actor from the Harry Potter film series to reprise their role in the Broadway production of Cursed Child. Written by Jack Thorne, from an original story by Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany, Cursed Child follows Harry’s second son, Albus Severus Potter, as he arrives at Hogwarts, gets sorted into Slytherin, and fails to live up to his father’s legacy, making him resentful of his father. The play covers Albus’ first four years at Hogwarts.

It’s no surprise that the production would want to keep Felton around as long as possible, considering that Cursed Child has held the No. 1 spot at the Broadway box office since his debut. It has become the highest-grossing production in the history of the Lyric Theatre, setting the house record at $3.7 million for the nine-performance week ending Dec. 28, 2025.

Felton’s run as Draco Malfoy on Broadway will now end on November 1, 2026.
