Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2 Suit ‘Evolution’ Gets an Answer From Designers

The costume designers behind The Batman 2 have addressed a question about the suit‘s design in the upcoming sequel. With one year until release, anticipation for the Robert Pattinson film is quite high. Since last year, rumors about the story and characters have been circulating, fueling the existing hype. The original premiered in March 2022 to primarily positive reviews and became a commercial success.

The Batman 2 costume designers ‘can’t talk about’ potential new batsuit

On Designing Hollywood, host Robert Meyer Burnett interacted with Project Hail Mary’s costume designers, David Crossman and Glyn Dillon, who are also handling the costumes for The Batman 2. He asked the pair if fans could expect an “evolution” in the batsuit in the sequel.

Dillon responded, “I don’t think we can talk about that,” before chuckling as Burnett stressed, “I have to ask.” However, they promised that the script was “really good.”

The script has notably been one of the main highlights of conversations surrounding the sequel. Robert Pattinson, who revealed on C à vous that he would begin preparation for The Batman 2 after wrapping up press tour for The Drama, labeled the screenplay “so good.”

This follows the actor’s remarks in an interview with Deadline, where he called it “extraordinary” and teased that the movie would be remarkably different from the last one in the sense that it took “some big swings.”

Meanwhile, Colin Farrell, expected to reprise his role of Oz Cobb/Penguin in the sequel, also showered high praise on the script, deeming it “tasty stuff.”

Elsewhere, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, who is producing an Andy Muschietti-directed Batman film set within the DCU, featuring Damian Wayne’s Robin, said, “It’s great,” when asked about the script (via Screenrant).

The Batman 2 releases on October 1, 2027, previously delayed several times to ensure a high-quality, fully realized screenplay, which Reeves co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin.

Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright are expected to reprise Alfred Pennyworth and James Gordon alongside Farrell and Pattinson. Marvel star Sebastian Stan has reportedly boarded the movie as Harvey Dent. He’ll play the Gotham City district attorney who becomes one of Batman’s most prominent foes, Two-Face. Meanwhile, fellow Marvel star Scarlett Johansson has also joined the film in an undisclosed role.
