Lily-Rose Depp’s $181M Gothic Horror Movie Is Coming to Peacock Soon
The 2024 horror movie Nosferatu, starring Lily-Rose Depp, is arriving on Peacock later this month. It is a remake of a 1922 movie of the same name and follows a woman who develops a psychic connection to a centuries-old vampire, which endangers the lives of everyone around her.
Nosferatu to stream on Peacock later this month
Nosferatu will begin streaming on Peacock from Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The movie is a remake of the 1922 movie Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, which was inspired by Bram Stoker’s 1897 landmark novel, Dracula.
The movie begins with Ellen, a young girl, being preyed upon by a vampiric figure named known as Count Orlok. Under his spell, she swears to be his, forming a psychic connection. Years later, Ellen marries Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent.
Unaware of the connection, Thomas travels to Transylvania to finalize a property deal with the Count, but leaves Ellen with his friends. Upon reaching the castle, Thomas falls sick and learns the Count’s true nature. Meanwhile, the Count travels to Wisburg and releases plague-carrying rats. As the town falls into panic and sickness, the vampire tells Ellen to submit to him voluntarily. Otherwise, he’ll kill Thomas and everyone she loves.
Robert Eggers directed the movie and wrote its screenplay. Notably, following the success of The Witch, Eggers expressed a desire to remake the 1922 movie in 2015 (via Deadline). At one point, Anya Taylor-Joy was attached to the project, which would have reunited the star and director after the success of The Witch. However, things did not work out at the time.
After years of development and casting changes, the Nosferatu remake began to materialize in late 2022 when Lily-Rose Depp replaced The Queen’s Gambit star. The final cast includes Depp as Ellen, Nicholas Hoult as Thomas, Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich, Willem Dafoe as Professor Albin, and Emma Corrin as Anna, among others.
The movie premiered on December 25, 2024, and received a positive reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a 85% Tomatometer score and 73% Popcornmeter score. At the box office, it made roughly $181.9 million worldwide. Furthermore, it received four Oscar nominations, though it did not win any.
