Vision: New Marvel Trademark Hints at Character’s Potential MCU Future
A mysterious MCU trademark filing has emerged online.
Marvel Studios is gearing up for the release of Avengers: Doomsday, which hits United States theaters this December. Other MCU projects coming out in 2026 include the remainder of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and VisionQuest. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and X-Men ’97 are not part of the MCU’s Sacred Timeline; however, the second season of both of those Marvel Television shows are also expected to arrive in the not-too-distant future as well.
What is the new MCU trademark filing?
Now, another potential MCU project may have come to light. As noted by @KnightGambit on Twitter, Marvel has filed a trademark filing for something called “Infinity Vision.”
As is always the case with trademark filings, this doesn’t necessarily mean that an Infinity Vision project — whatever it may be — has been given a green light. Oftentimes, studios file these trademark filings to be proactive; it’s possible that this project could never come to fruition. It’s also possible that “Infinity Vision” is just a placeholder name; meaning, the title of whatever this project might change, which then means it’s also possible that it doesn’t involve Paul Bettany’s Vision character at all. Additionally, it could signify a title change for the VisionQuest show or, perhaps more likely, “Infinity Vision” could just be the title of one of the episodes for VisionQuest.
While VisionQuest is meant to be the final chapter in the WandaVision/Agatha All Along trilogy, showrunner Terry Matalas did say that the character’s story could wind up continuing. He told The Direct, “I think that’s up to the Marvel and Disney Gods. It doesn’t necessarily have to [stand on its own]. There is a group of characters in situations that are certainly on their own island, if you will. Trying to figure out how to say this… You could very much see these characters again, if you want.”
All of that to say, “Infinity Vision” could be an MCU project involving Vision, or it could not be. It could be something that gets made, or it could never see the light of day. Pretty much everything is on the table at this point, as no further details are available at this time.
