The Drama Zendaya & Robert Pattinson A24 Movie Is Best Enjoyed Knowing This Beforehand

With The Drama being released in the United States this weekend, there are a few things that audiences might want to know about the movie before walking into the theater.

The Drama is a new A24 film written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, who previously made 2022’s Sick of Myself and 2023’s Dream Scenario, the latter of which stars Nicolas Cage. The cast of The Drama includes Zendaya as Emma Harwood, Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson, Mamoudou Athie as Mike, and Alana Haim as Rachel.

“A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails,” the synopsis reads.

What should people know about The Drama before walking into the theater?

The Drama is receiving mostly positive reviews from critics, as the movie currently has an 81 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer with 128 reviews. Many are specifically praising the film’s performances from Zendaya and Pattinson.

Having said that, The Drama won’t be for everyone. There’s been much speculation about what the big twist or reveal in the film would be; that has now been leaked and is pretty easily available to find on the internet. We won’t outright spoil what it is in this article, as this is being written for people who plan on seeing the movie and don’t want such a big plot point revealed (if you truly don’t even want a hint as to anything that happens in The Drama, it’s best to stop reading now); however, those who are especially sensitive to certain topics involving violence and children that have been repeatedly part of the news cycle might want to do some extra research into the movie in order to make sure they’re comfortable with the story that’s being told.

On that note, many critics have described the movie as being polarizing and unsettling because of its subject matter. Some see that as a positive and have praised the way the movie approaches the topic and still manages to present audiences with a satisfying blend of genres, while others aren’t quite as fond of the screenplay and feels the writing falls short.

The Drama is now playing in United States theaters.
