Over Your Dead Body Trailer Previews Jason Segel & Samara Weaving’s Dark Comedy Movie

A new, red band trailer for Over Your Dead Body has been released.

Over Your Dead Body is a new dark comedy movie that is being released in United States theaters later this month. The film is directed by Jorma Taccone, who is best known for being a member of the comedy music group The Lonely Island with Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer. Taccone previously directed 2010’s MacGruber, while he also co-directed 2016’s Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping with Schaffer.

What do we see in the Over Your Dead Body trailer?

The Over Your Dead Body trailer sees Ready or Not’s Samara Weaving and Shrinking’s Jason Segel playing a couple, Dan and Lisa. The two of them take a trip to a remote cabin, where it’s revealed that both of them have plans to murder one another.

The official synopsis reads, “When miserable couple Dan and Lisa retreat to a remote cabin for a romantic reset, each arrives with a secret plan to murder the other. Their carefully plotted traps and counterplots quickly unravel when a dangerous crew crashes the weekend with plans of their own. As the toxic getaway spirals into chaotic carnage, Dan and Lisa must survive the intruders, each other, and figure out if they want to save their marriage or survive it.”

The screenplay for Over Your Dead Body comes from Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. Timothy Olyphant and Juliette Lewis star in the movie alongside Segel and Weaving, while Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Aram Tertzakian, Nick Spicer, Guy Danella, and Lee Kim serve as producers. Executive producers include Taccone, Kjetil Omberg, Jørgen Storm Rosenberg, Tommy Wirkola, Maxime Cottray, Nate Bolotin, Timo Argillander, and Andrea Scarso.

Over Your Dead Body arrives on April 24, 2026, from Independent Film Company.
