Lee Cronin’s The Mummy releases new trailer and posters

Warner Bros. recently dropped a new trailer for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. Clocking in at one minute and 28 seconds, the footage highlights the main premise of the film, which follows a journalist, Charlie, whose daughter, Katie, goes missing for eight years but reappears with a horrifying, grotesque twist.

The footage begins with Cannon screaming for his daughter before cutting to a shot of Katie sitting at a picnic spot, arranging her food before her disappearance. Subsequent shots emphasize the film’s central mystery: Katie being in a 3000-year old sarcophagus, which has transformed her into a monstrous, hostile being, while also drawing attention to the trouble she will bring to her family.

New posters were also shared online, putting the spotlight on Katie and her terrifying look. These confirm the movie’s IMAX, AMC Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and ScreenX screenings.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, a reimagining of the Universal Pictures media franchise, will hit the North American theaters on April 17, 2026. It comes three years after his previous directorial feature, Evil Dead Rise.

Cronin teased an interview earlier that his film was remarkably different from the previous The Mummy movies. He labeled it a “mystery” and “puzzle box,” stressing that it was partially why he was drawn to making it (via IGN).

In addition to directing the film, Cronin wrote the screenplay. Meanwhile, James Wan and Jason Blum produced the movie through their respective production banners, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions, alongside New Line Cinema.

Jack Reynor and Natalie Grace star as Charlie and Katie, respectively. Also featuring are Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Veronica Falcón, May Elghety, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, and Hayat Kamille.
