Zendaya & Robert Pattinson Have Surprising Answers on Friends’ Best Character

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, whose new film The Drama premieres on April 3, 2026, in theatres, discussed some of the internet’s biggest debates in a session with LADbible Entertainment. One of the debates the pair addressed was the internet’s claim that Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) was the best Friends character.

Zendaya only saw one episode of Friends, that too recently

When the debate came up about the best Friends character during LADbible Entertainment’s session on the biggest internet debates, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson both had quite unique answers.

The claim was that Phoebe was the best character in Friends, something that has often been repeated in the age of the internet and social media.

Zendaya admitted that she had watched only a single episode of Friends and did not really have the depth to judge this. “Okay, this is going to be a little controversial, but I saw my first episode of Friends recently,” the Spider-Man actress said. “Like full episode of Friends recently. I didn’t grow up with Friends.”

She added, “I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t grow up with Friends. So, uh, again, I don’t really have a strong opinion on this.” Adding on Phoebe’s character, Zendaya added, “I did really like Phoebe. I did.” She moved the glass to “Agree” about the debate.

As for Pattinson, he ended up disagreeing with the internet’s take. “I’m more of a Joey person,” Pattinson declared, “I’m a Joey.” However, this left Zendaya confused. She asked, “Which one’s Joey?” Giving his final answer, Pattinson added, “Disagree. Yes.”

This has been among the most common internet debates, but both Pattinson and Zendaya had unique takes on the subject, especially Zendaya, who has not watched most of the series.

The Drama will premiere on April 3, 2026, in the theatres. The film additionally stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Zoë Winters, among others.
