Oscar Isaac Exits Kristen Stewart’s A24 Vampire Movie, Replacement Found

Oscar Isaac has dropped out of Kristen Stewart’s new A24 vampire movie.

Stewart has been tapped to play a character named Alex in an A24 vampire movie titled Flesh of the Gods. The movie is directed by Panos Cosmatos, who previously made 2018’s Mandy with Nicolas Cage.

Who is replacing Oscar Isaac in Kristen Stewart’s A24 vampire movie?

Isaac was initially supposed to play a character named Raoul opposite Stewart in Flesh of the Gods; however, per Deadline, he had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Wagner Moura has now been tapped to replace him.

Moura recently received an Oscar nomination for his performance in The Secret Agent. He played Pablo Escobar in the Narcos show and voiced Death in 2022’s Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, while he’s also appeared in movies such as 2013’s Elysium, 2022’s The Gray Man, and 2024’s Civil War. He’s also voicing a character named Brander Lawson in Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, which premieres in less than a week.

Deadline’s description of the movie’s plot reads, “Flesh of the Gods follows Raoul (Moura) and Alex (Stewart), a married couple in glittering ’80s Los Angeles who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm. When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic Nameless and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence.”

The film’s script is written by Andrew Kevin Walker, based on a story by Walker and Cosmatos. Adam McKay and Betsy Koch are producing for HyperObject Industries alongside Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo for Germany’s augenschein Filmproduktion, and Stewart and Maggie McLean for Nevermind Pictures.

An official release date for Flesh of the Gods has not yet been announced.
