What is Brad Pitt’s salary on The Adventures of Cliff Booth?
According to Puck’s Matthew Belloni, Pitt is being paid $40 million to star and produce in The Adventures of Cliff Booth. That marks one of the biggest paydays of Pitt’s career. Pitt reportedly earned $30 million upfront to play Sonny Hayes in F1. To star in Wolfs, Pitt and George Clooney were paid between $35 million and $45 million each. However, Clooney later denied that figure.
Pitt is not the only one receiving an eight-figure salary on The Adventures of Cliff Booth. David Fincher, who has an exclusive partnership with Netflix, is getting $20 million to direct the movie. Plus, Quentin Tarantino, who directed Pitt in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, is getting more than $20 million for a “one-picture license” to make the movie from his script. Tarantino is also one of the few filmmakers who retains ownership of his projects.
With Pitt, Fincher, and Tarantino commanding giant fees, The Adventures of Cliff Booth’s budget is around $200 million.
Pitt reprises his role of Cliff Booth, the Oscar-winning role from 2019’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The Adventures of Cliff Booth is not a direct sequel to OUATIH. Instead, it fast-forwards to the 1970s and follows Cliff’s life after serving as Rick Dalton’s stuntman.
Leonardo DiCaprio will not reprise his role as Rick Dalton in the Netflix movie. DiCaprio reportedly turned down the role despite being offered an estimated $3 million for a cameo.
Besides Pitt, The Adventures of Cliff Booth’s cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Timothy Olyphant, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, Karren Karagulian, and Scott Caan.
Fincher will direct from Tarantino’s script. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will compose the score.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth was originally slated for an August 2026 release. However, Netflix has yet to confirm the date, suggesting the film could come out later this year.
