Mark Wahlberg’s new comedy, a direct-to-streaming film, is set to be released on Amazon Prime Video this month. With the entire country after them, they must find a way out.
Mark Wahlberg’s Balls Up arrives on Prime Video this month
Balls Up will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The streamer released a red-band trailer earlier last month.
The R-rated film centers on marketing executives Brad and Elijah, who have a bold condom sponsorship idea for the soccer World Cup. While attending the final match in Brazil, Brad accidentally prevents the home team from scoring the winning goal. Soon, the two are chased by the country’s people for robbing them of a victory. As the two struggle to flee Brazil, they face a series of bizarre and hilarious incidents, including being abducted by a drug smuggler.
The film stars Mark Wahlberg as Brad, Paul Walter Hauser as Elijah, Molly Shannon as Burgess, Benjamin Bratt as Santos, Daniela Melchior as Isabella, Sacha Baron Cohen as Pavio, and Eric André as Eco, among others.
Peter Farrelly, known for Green Book and Dumb and Dumber, helmed Balls Up. He also reunited with his frequent collaborator, Dave Palmer, for the film’s score. They have worked on hits like Ricky Stanicky, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, and the TV series Loudermilk.
Meanwhile, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick co-wrote the script and produced it under their production studio, Reese/Wernick Productions. They previously collaborated on several popular projects, including all three Deadpool movies and the Zombieland duology.
Amazon MGM Studios is handling the distribution, hence the film’s arrival on Prime Video. Skydance Media serves as one of the production studios. The filming reportedly took place at Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland, Australia, in July 2024.
