The Bride! stars Penélope Cruz, Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Julianne Hough, John Magaro, and Jeannie Berlin. The film is inspired by 1935’s Bride of Frankenstein, which, itself, is inspired by 1818’s Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley.

The Bride! was originally announced as a Netflix project in August 2023; however, the streaming service left the project not long after it was announced. Warner Bros. then took over in November 2023, while filming began in March 2024. The movie released to mostly divisive reviews, with many criticizing the film for its different take on the source material, and some praising the project for its modern twist.

The Bride! was written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, with Gyllenhaal also producing the film alongside Osnat Handelsman-Keren, Talia Kleinhendler, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff.
