More than a month after undergoing emergency shoulder surgery, Channing Tatum shared an update on his recovery. The actor said he has experienced difficult moments mentally but is beginning to improve.

In the Instagram video posted on March 30, 2026, Tatum said, “It’s a good day, finally. This has been a rough one. I’ve been mentally up and down in my head more than I think I’ve ever been in my life.” He also showed the scar from the surgery, which is healing following the procedure in February.

“The scar is actually healing up pretty nice. I’m getting some mobility back. It’s atrophied so much though. I feel like a toddler in the gym,” he added in the video.

Tatum also shared that doctors have given him the “green light” to resume work on his upcoming project, which centers on the Isle of Man motorcycle race. He said he has six weeks before filming begins. “It’s gonna be a grind. Wish me some luck,” the actor added.

In the caption of the Instagram post, Tatum wrote, “This one has been the lowest of the lows. But starting to come out the other side. Feeling better than i have in months mentally. 6 weeks till we start the isle of Mann TT motorcycle love story. So let the grind begin.”

Channing Tatum is also set to reprise his role as Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to premiere on December 18, 2026, in theaters.
