Zootopia 2 Dethroned by New Release on Streaming Charts

The Disney+ rankings in the United States have seen a change at the top, with Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special moving into the number one position. The new release has surpassed Zootopia 2, pushing the animated sequel to second place. The update comes shortly after the release of the anniversary special, which has gained early traction on the platform.

Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special tops Disney+ streaming charts

Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special has climbed to the top of the Disney+ streaming charts in the United States, overtaking Zootopia 2, according to FlixPatrol. The special secured the number one position on March 30, 2026, pushing the animated sequel to second place despite its strong run on the platform. 

Both titles outperformed several well-known movies and television shows in the Disney+ Top 10 rankings. This includes Mickey+ Shorts: Mickey+ Bluey, Daredevil: Born Again, Bluey’s Big Play, and Versa among others.

Released on March 24, 2026, the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special revisits the legacy of Hannah Montana. Directed by Sam Wrench and hosted by Alex Cooper, the program centers on Miley Cyrus as she reflects on the series through an extended interview. The special also incorporates archival footage, recreated sets, appearances from surprise guests, and a live musical segment.

Samantha Nungesser of Decider wrote, “Miley was able to expertly transfer us back in time to 2006, feeding us the nostalgia we’ve all been starving for as of late. Every detail, from her hair to her Hannah-coded wardrobe to the “oo-oh-woah-ohh” transitions, was everything and more than I could have ever imagined. From our older selves to Miley, we thank you for this special.”

In comparison, Zootopia 2, directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, continues the story of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they take on a new investigation that challenges both their skills and partnership. The film was released theatrically in the United States on November 26, 2025, before making its way to streaming.

The sequel has maintained a strong response among critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 91 percent critics score alongside a 95 percent audience rating.
